War, Hope and Love.
The feelings and comments about The Hunger Games are too much; due to this is the first time I write about this series, so I came up with three highlights briefly.
War :
In The Hunger Games, the author presented how cruel and unfeeling the war is.
The world in the story is not a magical, imaginable one such as Narnia or Harry Potter. (I love these two stories too!) The Hunger Games is realistic, maybe merciless and it didn't create a world that people yearn for. (Although it's still a huge succeed. Then we should know how amazing the story is.)That's because the author wanted people to discover what a disaster it would be if the war happens. Of course it's a little bit depressing and therefore not so excited, but that's because there is something we need to learn from the stories, no matter the books or the movies.
Do not always eager to watch the stories with wonderful fantasy, we need to realize that the dark side of the world is also an important part on Earth which cannot be ignored. The dark side of this world such as the war, the side we refuse to see in our daily life but it exists truly. Therefore, The Hunger Games created a serious war that made the audience as if they had gone through the war themselves by reading books and watching movies. And at last, people may have chances to understand how important the equality and the peace are, the real ones. We would finally realize the essential of the real equality and the real peace on Earth.
Hope :
A single spark can start a huge blaze; as if a tiny hope can overthrow all the misfortune.
Katniss, the main character in the films, is the one who lighted up the fire of hope. Which hope? The hope of revolution, the hope of victory, the hope of happiness and the hope of freedom. What kinds of freedom? Free from oppressed, free from fear and free from the darkness of life.
''Fire is catching. If we burn, you burn with us.''
Katniss, and her poison berries, maybe and Peeta, brought up the hope. The rising of the hope, can defeat all the desperation. Even is unintentional, as long as there is an opportunity.
Love :
''What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again.''
At first I was confusing why theses words touched my heart. I am fascinated with Peeta's love to Katniss, so why did I feel moving to Katniss confessed?
Gradually, I realized the reason. Because it is the highest honor that the author gave to ''love''. A kind of love. The love without reserving, and without returning. Peeta is the dandelion to Katniss. And his love is the most touching love in the world. (in my points)
His love, just like the sun, is the warm which will always shine through clouds. And it's nothing else, only pure. The pure love, the pure moving, and the pure beautiful. The author gives the highest praise for all the investing, and love.
Sorry for my poor grammar skills, my English isn't very well.
Thank you for reading this essay and hope you like my words and agree with my opinions.
Also, hope you can share some your ideas about The Hunger Games with me. :)
/這篇文章的草稿是高中英文課時老師要求的作文,所以整篇文章就直接用英文寫成了XD。或許之後有機會有可能補上中文版的文章哈哈,敬請期待。/
